Residential Living FAQ
What families & caregivers often ask
What is residential living?
Residential living is a shared home environment for adults with developmental disabilities who benefit from daily support. Each of our homes typically houses multiple individuals and includes 24/7 staff assistance. These are real houses located in local neighborhoods, designed to offer both structure and independence. It’s a safe, stable setting where people can build routines and community.
What kind of help is provided in the homes?
Our trained staff assist with daily tasks like cooking, bathing, medication, and transportation. They also help with personal goals, from improving life skills to participating in local events. The level of support is customized to each person’s needs. We aim to make every home feel safe, consistent & respectful.
Can someone live at home and still receive services?
Yes. For people who live independently or with family, we offer Community Support Services that provide scheduled help without 24/7 care. We also offer Ohio Shared Living, which pairs an individual with a live-in caregiver. These options are great for those who want more flexibility or a family-style environment.
How are placements decided?
We work with each individual, their family, and their county service team to find the best fit. Compatibility with housemates, medical needs, and personal preferences are all considered. Our goal is to make each home feel like the right place for each person. We believe in collaboration and open communication throughout the process.
Where are your homes located?
We operate residential living settings across four Ohio counties: Stark, Summit, Mahoning, and Trumbull. Our homes are located in neighborhoods throughout communities like Canton, Austintown, and Akron. If you’re unsure whether we serve your area, feel free to reach out—our team is happy to help you find the right fit. We also work with County Boards of Developmental Disabilities to coordinate placements based on your location and individual needs.
