Day Programs FAQ

What families & participants often ask

  • Who can participate in the day programs?

Our programs are designed for adults age 18 and older with developmental or intellectual disabilities. We welcome individuals at all levels of ability and create activities that are appropriate and engaging for each participant. Our team works closely with families and caregivers to ensure the program meets every person’s unique needs.

  • What is the difference between day programs and Siffrin Academy?

Our day programs focus on daily activities, social interaction, and community engagement for adults of all ages. Siffrin Academy, on the other hand, is a transitional program for young adults preparing for life after high school. It offers a structured curriculum that combines classroom learning with hands-on experiences. Both programs support independence, but they are designed for different life stages and goals.

  • Are meals provided during the program?

Participants are encouraged to bring their own meals, and staff provide assistance during lunchtime if needed. Occasionally, outings may include opportunities to eat at local restaurants or participate in special group meals. We ensure that all dietary needs and preferences are respected.

  • Do you provide transportation to and from the program?

Yes. We offer safe, reliable transportation to and from both day program locations. Our trained drivers and accessible vehicles make it easier for participants and families to manage transportation needs. Transportation can be arranged during the enrollment process to ensure a smooth start.

  • How do I enroll someone in a day program?

Enrollment often begins with a referral from your local County Board of Developmental Disabilities, but families and caregivers can also reach out to us directly. We’ll guide you through the process, answer any questions, and help determine which location and schedule is the best fit. Our team will work closely with you every step of the way to ensure a successful transition into the program.
